From the moment I met Ben, a high school senior from Dublin Jerome, it was obvious his vibe was very laid back and chill! I think he was rather indifferent to doing a session but also knew it was important to his parents. I was determined to create an experience that was not only enjoyable but also captured who Ben truly is.

We kicked things off with a planning session to map out the vibe and wardrobe for his shoot. As it turns out, Ben is a sports lover through and through—hockey is his game, and he spends most of his days in sports gear, again as most guys do! But I wanted to make sure we showcased more than just that side of him. I wanted to bring out his personality, his interests, and his style in a way that was unique to him. So, we took our time to explore different session ideas, locations, and looks to see what would fit Ben's vibe best.

At first, Ben seemed pretty laid back about the whole process, about where we’d shoot or what he’d wear. I knew there was one location that might be the perfect match, and I was determined to find it. After showing him a few options, there was one specific session I had done a few months back in a vibrant city location that had a mix of urban flair and city lights. City shoots, just have a different kind of energy. We had shot it late in the day, catching all the incredible night lights, and it had this super cool, edgy vibe. As soon as Ben saw it, I could see his eyes light up—this was it! We had found his perfect spot.

When session day arrived, Ben showed up in some amazing outfits that were effortlessly stylish and completely on point. I have to say, for a guy who wasn’t all that excited about the process at the beginning, Ben ended up absolutely nailing his shoot! He brought a relaxed, easy-going energy, and every shot felt so natural. He embraced the whole experience, and we had such a blast capturing his unique style in this incredible city backdrop. It ended up being one of my absolute favorite sessions!

The best part? Watching Ben and his parents see the final images together last week. The smiles on their faces and the excitement they shared said it all—they loved it! It was truly special to create something for Ben that felt like him and to give his family a set of images that captured this moment in time so perfectly.

When I asked Ben a few personal things about himself, this is what he shared:

What are you most excited about in your senior year?

Mostly spending time with my friends and considering all the exciting opportunities of where I may go to school, or what my future holds for me. 

Share 3 killer things on your bucket list?

1) Going to a Superbowl and my dream team would be the Cleveland Browns! 

2) Visiting Miami Florida! Just looks like a cool place!

3) Despite having a fear of heights, SKYDIVING! 

What is the best advice you've received from a parent or both?

To always stay true to who you are and not change for anyone or anything! Always believe in yourself and what you're capable of!

Have you decided on future plans yet?

I have not made any solid decisions yet, but my dreams and ambitions for my future would be to one day have my own business (yay!). His dream school would be Central Florida to study business and marketing!
